Founder Partner

Mikal Watts is a founding partner of WATTS GUERRA LLP, located in San Antonio, Texas and has decades of experience litigating complex mass tort cases involving defective products and corporate malfeasance. He is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, is a AV Rated Lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell, and has served on the Executive Committee for Texas Trial Lawyers Association (“TTLA”) and Attorneys Information Exchange Group (“AIEG”).


Mikal has been appointed to leadership positions in numerous MDLs. MDL courts also consistently appoint him to fashion the settlements of nationwide torts.  He has served on the Plaintiff Steering Committee (“PSC”) in In Re: FEMA Trailer Formaldehyde Products Liability Litigation, MDL 1873, In Re: Oil Spill by the Oil Rig “Deepwater Horizon” in the Gulf of Mexico (MDL 2179), In re: California North Bay Fires Cases (JCCP 4955) and In re: Valsartan N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) Contamination Products Liability Litigation (MDL 2875). 


In addition to prior membership on PSCs, Mikal has personally tried as lead trial counsel the “first in the nation” trial cases for major pharmaceutical and product liability litigations consolidated into MDLs. Collectively, Watts’ firm has achieved verdicts in excess of $1.6 billion, and recoveries for its clients exceeding $4 billion.


Recently, Watts’ firm negotiated a settlement for $13.5 billion on behalf of thousands of victims of the California wildfires. He also became the second attorney, and the first Texas attorney, to file litigation over JUUL vaping products teaming up with other prominent mass tort attorneys.

Meredith Drukker Stratigopoulos attended law school at the University of Texas after completing her undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University. She focuses on helping plaintiffs in personal injury, mass tort, product liability, and commercial litigation.




Michael Murray is licensed to practice in Texas courts, the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Sixth and Tenth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. He is an appellate attorney who has extensive experience and education in advocating in trial and appellate courts on a wide range of legal matters.
